SmartShepherd pod

Instructions for using the SmartShepherd pods Mar 30, 2020

The pods are attached to the collars by screwing them down firmly onto the base attached to the collar. To change a battery, use a small pry tool to unseat the battery from the holder being careful not to snap the battery holder.

Reference for the sounds that the pods make

Battery change

The pods use a standard CR2032 coin cell - we recommend and use Panasonic batteries as some of the no-name brand batteries can be quite variable in quality. The pod will make a short beep when a new battery is inserted

Sample beep when battery is inserted:

Putting the pod to sleep

Once the battery is inserted, it is ready to use. If you don't want to use it straight away, put it to sleep by holding down the button for 7 seconds. The pod will make this noise to indicate it has gone to sleep:

Sleep

Wake up the pod before putting it on an animal

Press the button once to wake it back up, ready to use.

Wake up

My pod is already awake but I pressed the button

If the pod is already awake, it will play this jaunty little tune. Everybody loves this tune, especially after you have put collars on 500 sheep in a row.

Awake
